Petra Erving
Petra has worked in the healthcare industry since 2002. She predominately worked in private physiotherapy and sports injury clinics treating both acute and chronic soft tissue injuries. in 2006, wanting to specialise, Petra shadowed and worked alongside Michigan’s leading postoperative massage therapist in the Centre for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Ann Arbor, Michigan where she learned specialised manual techniques for treating problematic postoperative scarring.

As part of this training she completed two levels in Dr Bruno Chikly’s Lymph Drainage Therapy. This was the beginning of petra’s interest into the benefits of working with the lymphatic system. Since returning from the States, Petra has gained qualifications in the treatment and management of Lymphoedema (decongestive lymphoedema therapy) and works part time in the NHS treating both primary and secondary Lymphoedema patients.
Petra now joins the LBPS team, bringing her knowledge and expertise in the benefits of using lymphatic drainage in the pre and postoperative period. She believes that early intervention with MLD and occasionally, scar tissue therapy, enhances the healing process, reduces swelling and bruising and improves scarring. Patients can return to normal activities sooner. For further information contact our office.
